LSAT Tutoring

LSAT tutoring is live, 1-on-1 work with someone who already beat the test. Your LSAT tutor watches how you solve a question, finds the habit that’s costing you points, and fixes it with you. We call it coaching. Same thing.

  • Every tutor scored 170+
  • Coaching the LSAT since 2005
  • Live and online

What an LSAT tutor does that a video can’t

A video can explain a question. It has no idea what you did with it.

Most people who stall aren’t missing content. They’ve watched the lessons and taken the practice tests, and the score just sits there. Nobody has ever watched them work.

An LSAT tutor has you solve a question out loud. Within a few minutes they can hear where your reasoning bends. Maybe you never predict an answer before you read the choices. Maybe you read the stimulus 3 times because you didn’t trust the first read. You can’t catch that alone, because from the inside every wrong answer felt right.

So the job is simple to describe. Find the habit, fix it, then check that the fix holds on your next timed section.

Today’s LSAT has 2 scored Logical Reasoning sections, 1 scored Reading Comprehension section, and 1 unscored section. Logical Reasoning is 2/3 of your score, and so that’s where most tutoring time goes.

How LSAT tutoring starts

  1. Book your free LSAT tutoring lesson

I teach every free lesson myself. We’ll go over an LSAT question together, and I’ll tell you what’s capping your score.

  2. Get paired with your LSAT tutor

If tutoring fits, you’ll work with a coach I trained, and every coach on the team scored 170+. If a self-study course is the better fit for you right now, I’ll say that.

  3. Meet every week until test day

Each session goes after your sticking points. Between sessions you follow a study plan built around your test date and the hours you really have.

Who your LSAT tutor is

I’m Steve Schwartz, and I’ve been coaching the LSAT since 2005. I started at 152 and finished at 175. The 2 frameworks we teach came out of that climb.

I built the method, but I don’t tutor every student personally. You’ll work with a coach I trained. Every one of them scored 170+, so your tutor has already solved the problem you’re stuck on.

The LASER Approach is the study system. It stands for Learning, Accuracy, Sections, Exams and Endurance, and Review, and it sets the order you prep in so nothing gets skipped.

The Socratic Review Method is how you review a miss. You answer a set of questions about it until you can spot the trap before it’s set. Honestly, this is where the score moves. If 20 practice tests haven’t changed your number, test 21 won’t either.

Online LSAT tutoring, wherever you live

Every session is live and online, face to face over video. You share your screen and work a question out loud while your tutor marks up the same page.

Plenty of people search for an LSAT tutor near them. The best tutor for your score is rarely the one in your zip code, and with an online LSAT tutor you aren’t limited to who lives close by.

The test itself is in person. As of the August 2026 test, you take the LSAT on a screen at a Prometric test center, so your timed practice with us happens on a screen too.

How much does an LSAT tutor cost?

The price of LSAT tutoring comes down to who’s teaching, how many hours you buy, and what’s bundled with those hours.

For a sense of the market, the big test prep companies list their LSAT tutoring packages from about $1,700 to about $4,800 as of October 2026. Independent tutors charge by the hour, and that range is wide.

Personally, I think the hourly rate is the wrong number to compare. A cheap hour with a tutor who reads you an explanation you could’ve read yourself is expensive. Look at what happens between sessions. A study plan and a review method are what you’re really paying for.

Our packages and prices are on the 10-Hour Coaching Program and LSAT Bootcamp pages, and payment plans are available at checkout. During your free LSAT tutoring lesson, I’ll tell you which one fits. Sometimes the answer is none of them.

Is LSAT tutoring worth it?

Law schools price by score. A 5-point jump in the 160s usually moves you into a different scholarship bracket, and that gap often runs to tens of thousands of dollars over 3 years. Next to that, tutoring is a small bet.

It still isn’t the right buy for everyone. Here’s how I’d sort it.

Where you areWhat fits
Just starting, no practice test yetSelf-study. Start with the free LSAT cheat sheet and the free LSAT explanations.
Under 160 and still improving on your ownA course is enough for now. Tutoring can wait.
Same score on your last 3 practice testsAn LSAT tutor. Something in how you solve or review is capped, and you can’t see it from the inside.
High 160s, aiming for 170+Tutoring. The last points hide in a few repeat mistakes, and those are the hardest ones to find alone.
Test day is under 6 weeks outA tutor, with every session spent on your 2 or 3 weakest question types.

I sell LSAT tutoring, so take this with a grain of salt. Check the scholarship numbers for the schools on your own list.

LSAT tutoring questions

Is online LSAT tutoring as good as in person? Expand

Yes, and for most students it’s better. You share your screen, so your tutor sees exactly how you work a question, and you both mark up the same page. You also get to choose from tutors who scored 170+, which beats settling for whoever lives nearby.

How much does an LSAT tutor cost? Expand

It depends on who’s teaching, how many hours you buy, and what comes with those hours. The big test prep companies list LSAT tutoring packages from about $1,700 to about $4,800 as of October 2026. Our packages are on the program pages, and payment plans are available at checkout.

If you’ve stalled, usually yes. Law schools price by score, and a 5-point jump in the 160s usually moves you into a different scholarship bracket. If you’re under 160 and still improving on your own, a course is enough for now and tutoring can wait.

Should I get an LSAT tutor or take an LSAT course? Expand

A course teaches everyone the same lessons. An LSAT tutor watches how you solve questions and fixes what’s specific to you. Start with a course if you’re still climbing. Switch to a tutor once the score stops moving and you can’t see why.

How long will I need an LSAT tutor? Expand

It depends where you start and what’s broken. Some students jump within weeks once their review process is fixed. Others need months of steady work. You’ll get an honest read during your free LSAT tutoring lesson.

Can I find an LSAT tutor near me? Expand

Our LSAT tutoring is online, so it works anywhere in the US with a decent connection. Don’t limit the search to your zip code. Who your tutor is matters far more than where they live.
