Free school list · 196 ABA schools · Fall 2025 entering class
What law schools can I get into? Every ABA school by your LSAT and GPA (2025 data).
Most people build a list from the 8 schools they've heard of, apply, and never find out about the 30 that would have taken them with money. Put in your 2 numbers and every ABA school lands in a group: Likely, Target, Reach, or Long shot, each with its median, your gap, and what students there actually paid.
Sample numbers: 158 LSAT, 3.60 GPA. Put your own in the form.
The names are 1 email away.
Your list, grouped
Filters change the list, not the tiles. The tiles always count all 196.
At the median law school, 1 LSAT point is worth about $3,000 a year in grants. Look up the number for your schools.
Rankings move more than you'd think. See every U.S. News law school list since 2010, with each school's median LSAT and Big Law hiring by year.
How the groups work. Your LSAT and GPA are placed against each school’s 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles from its 2025 ABA 509 filing, weighted toward the LSAT, and scaled by the school’s acceptance rate. Likely, Target, Reach, and Long shot are estimates, not promises. The medians, your gap, and the aid shares are the filing itself. Verify any figure against the school’s own 509 report before you act on it. LSAT is a registered trademark of the Law School Admission Council, which does not endorse this tool. How to read your list
Start with Target. Those are the schools where your numbers sit near the middle of last year's class, which is where admission and a real scholarship both live. A list of 8 Targets with 2 Reaches and 2 Likelies beats a list of 10 Reaches every time, because the Reaches don't pay.
Likely is where the money is. When your LSAT sits above a school's 75th percentile, you're the applicant that school is buying to protect its median, and the aid column shows what students there paid. Personally, I'd put at least 3 of them on any list, even if you don't picture yourself there today.
Long shot isn't a "no." It's a "not with these numbers." The nearest misses lead that group on purpose: those are the schools a few LSAT points move first. If that group holds the schools you actually want, the chances calculator shows what each point buys at those schools.
Questions people ask while building a list
What law schools can I get into with a 160 LSAT?
A 160 clears the median at 112 of the 196 ABA schools in the 2025 filings. Which of those are Likely and which are Target depends on your GPA, and the top of the list depends on how far under the T14 medians (171 to 175) you sit. Put 160 and your GPA in the form above and the tiles answer it for your numbers.
Is the LSAT or GPA more important for getting into law school?
The LSAT, and it isn't close at most schools. Every school reports both to the ABA, and the LSAT median is the number that moves rankings, so it's the number admissions protects. A GPA below a school's 25th percentile is a real gap, but the LSAT can carry a below-median GPA a long way. A below-median LSAT with a strong GPA moves far less.
What does Likely, Target, Reach, and Long shot mean here?
Likely means your numbers sit above the school's medians by enough that admission is the usual outcome for that profile. Target means you're in the middle of the class. Reach means you're under the medians but inside the class's range. Long shot means you're under the 25th percentile on the number that school weighs most. All 4 are estimates built from the 509 percentiles and acceptance rate, not a promise from any school.
Does a below-median LSAT mean I won't get in?
No, a quarter of every class sits under the 25th percentile on something. It means the school is choosing you for a reason other than your numbers, and it usually means you're paying full price. The aid column in the list shows what share of students at each school paid full price and what share got half tuition or more.
Why does my list look different from the chances calculator?
The chances calculator answers how you stand at schools you already picked. This page answers which schools should be on your list at all. Same model, same 2025 data, different question.
