Do You Need Help?
Last page of real content, so let’s run the anti-sell gate one more time, pointed at my own services, because you’ve earned a straight answer to the question the back cover raised: who actually needs coaching for this?
Most of you don’t. I mean that. The method is complete on these pages. The tools are assembled in the appendix. And the entire design assumption of this book was a reader doing this alone at 11pm on a budget of $0. Maybe you’re in the Runway or Build band, running the protocols on schedule, passing the 90-second test, with a position table that says your list makes sense. Then you’re the self-serve case, and you should feel good about it. Spend the coaching money on application fees, or on nothing.
Some of you are in the situations where a second set of eyes pays for itself, and they’re specific: you’re In-Cycle with compressed timelines, where 1 list mistake outweighs a year of small ones. You’re a splitter or reverse splitter, your venue research shows 3 schools behaving 3 different ways, and real money rides on reading them right. You’re a reapplicant deciding what to rebuild, which is the easiest place in the process to lie to yourself in either direction. Or your 90-second test keeps failing, and the friends you hand the draft to keep saying “it’s good!” because they love you. Sweet. Useless. Or your damage file has moving parts (chapter 10 named them) that want a professional’s hour before anything gets submitted.
And a few of you shouldn’t hire me or anyone: if what you want is someone to write it, decide it, or want it for you, coaching can’t fix that and shouldn’t try. The introduction said it on page 3 and it’s still true on the last page: wrong book, wrong profession, no hard feelings.
